Esther Crawford said yesterday that the company was going to put a gray label on verified real accounts. It is not clear if all of the blue check accounts will add the gray badges.
The people who pay for Blue with verification are worried that they will be confused if they impersonate politicians or news outlets. Users who impersonate other people on the platform will be permanently suspended, according to Musk.
