Sky News reported that Russia sent 140 million Euros in cash and a cache of Western weapons to Iran in order to pay for a shipment of drones.

According to a security source, Russia made a secret flight on August 20 after it was reported that it had received a lot of deadly drones.

The source said that Russia sent a British NLAW anti-tank missile and a US Javelin anti-tank missile. The source told Sky that the weapons fell into the hands of the Russians.

The two countries have already agreed on a $200 million deal for drones.

Iran's own weapons development systems may be helped by the Western weapons it received.

Iran develops and manufactures a lot of its own military hardware in isolation.

The portable Western-developed equipment it was said to receive has proved valuable to the Ukrainian defense.

The source told Sky that the captured Western weapons will probably be reverse- engineered in the future.

Insider wasn't able to verify the claims. Russia'sMinistry of Defense did not reply immediately.

Sky News' source provided what appeared to be satellite images of two Ilyushin IL-76 military cargo planes arriving at and leaving the Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran.

Sky reported that Iran provided 166 drones in that exchange. There were 100 Shahed-136 drones, 60 smaller Shahed-131 drones and six Mohajer6 drones.

Iran and Russia have denied reports that Iran is providing Russia with drones. Iran's Foreign Minister admitted on November 5 that it sent a limited number of drones months before the war in Ukraine.

A Russian defense official was caught on a hot mic saying that the Kremlin imported Russian drones.

The Washington Post reported that US officials came to the conclusion that a Russian cargo plane left a Tehran airport carrying Iranian drones.

Sky News has been told that at least five Russian aircraft have been transporting drones from Iran to Russia.

Russia is using drones in its attacks on Ukrainian cities.
