Reece James hobbles off injured
James was substituted during Chelsea's win at AC Milan after jarring his knee

James was left out of the England World Cup squad.

The 22-year-old sustained an injury against AC Milan in October but is optimistic of being ready for the competition.

He started jogging this week after being told he would be out for eight weeks.

"The minute I injured my knee, I knew the turnaround to make the World Cup would be tight," James said on Twitter.

I always believed it could be done.

I have worked harder than I ever thought I could to give myself the best chance of going and helping the team.

It is believed that the risk of taking James was too great for England.

James said that he was willing to take the risk.

I wish the boys good fortune. I will return soon. Sending love is important.

On November 21st, England will play Iran in the World Cup.

Kyle Walker is an England right-back.

The Manchester City defender had groin surgery at the start of October, but said he was confident of being ready for the World Cup.

The 32-year-old was not going to play for the club before the tournament started.
