Early Wednesday, both chambers of Congress are still in play, despite late polling suggesting a huge victory for the Republicans.

While control of the Senate hangs in the balance, Republicans have not yet managed to gain a single new seat while Democrat John Fetterman beat Trump-endorsed Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania Senate race

The GOP is still in a good position to win the House, but its margin of victory is likely to be less than expected.

The biggest surprise of the night was the performance of right wing Rep. Lauren Boebert, who is in a close race with Democrat Adam Frisch.

Kevin McCarthy tried to put on a brave face by predicting victory in front of his supporters and that Nancy Pelosi would be in the minority.

McCarthy could see his position as House leader of the GOP challenged by Steve Scalise if the Republicans win less than 200 seats.

The Republican Party needs to do a lot of soul searching after the results of the election were slammed by a Fox News contributor. He pointed out that several far-right candidates lost on Tuesday night.
