Tesla voluntarily recalled Model S and Model X vehicles.

The issue that may have led to a loss of power steering assistance has been fixed by a software update.

According to CNBC, a software update was installed on almost all of the recalled vehicles. The Model S and Model X were affected by the glitch after an update that included new calibration values for the electronic power-assisted steering system was installed. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the power steering assistance may have been impacted by the update.

According to The Wall Street Journal, 40,168 of the vehicles were recalled byTesla. The company did not receive any reports of injuries related to the power steering system, despite the fact that 314 vehicles were affected by the glitch.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the stock of the auto-maker has already been falling. More than 24,000 Model 3 cars were recalled last month after being flagged for seatbelts that may not have been secured properly.
