Disney's domestic theme parks recorded "phenomenal results" in its fiscal fourth quarter.
Disney Parks, Experiences and Products recorded revenue of $7.4 billion, up 36% compared to the same period last year, and operating income increased more than 50% to $1.5 billion, compared to $640 million in the same quarter last year.
Christine McCarthy said it was a great quarter for the segment.
Spending per capita was up from year to year. The main reason is that there are optional paid services.
McCarthy said that international visitors were in line with pre-pandemic totals.
On many days, demand for the parks exceeds their current capacity.
McCarthy said that Disney expects a strong holiday season in the next fiscal year.
Disney Cruise Line contributed to the company's results in the fourth quarter. The Disney Wish has been a success and the rest of the fleet is still recovering. McCarthy said that the Wish'sOccupancy exceeds 90%.
The company's 100th anniversary celebration will begin in Anaheim, Calif., on January 27. There is a new attraction called Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.
The largest cross-country celebration in Disney's history is only one part of the event.
