Disney Plus has added over 9 million subscribers in the US in the last few months, and many people in the US are opting for the Disney Plus bundle. Disney revealed in its earnings report on Tuesday that it added over 12 million Disney Plus subscribers around the world, making for 163 million in total, as well as 14 million subscribers across all of its services.

Christine McCarthy, the chief financial officer at Disney, said during an earnings call that 40% of Disney Plus subscribers have the bundle, which makes it difficult to pass up. It gives access to Disney Plus, Disney Plus with ads, Disney Plus without ads, and Disney Plus with ads for a monthly fee.

The price of Disney Plus and ad-free Hulu has gone up recently, but the bundle price is still better. In July, it implemented a price increase on its ESPN Plus subscription, which went from $6.99 to $9.99.

The revenue per paid subscriber for Disney Plus in the US decreased from $6.81 to $6.10 and from $12.50 to $12.23, respectively. It is possible that more people bought into the bundle as it reduces the amount of money they pay for each individual subscription.

Disney lost over a billion dollars in direct-to-consumer revenue in the past year. Disney Plus subscribers can watch cinematic releases directly from the company's website. As the company added more content to the service, programming and production costs increased.

Disney is pretty confident that its streaming services will keep growing. Disney Plus is introducing a cheaper ad-supported tier on December 8th that the company says it has secured more than 100 advertisers for.
