Pollock will become a free agent after declining his $13 million contract option for the next season.
Pollock is going to get a $5 million buy out.
Pollock was acquired by the White Sox six days before the start of the campaign.
It was somewhat of a surprise that he declined the option on his contract. He slashed.245/.289/.389 with 14 home runs and 56 runs scored.
He was an All-Star for the first time in his career in 2015, as he slashed.315/.361/.498 with 20 home runs, 76RBI and 39 stolen bases in 157 games for the D-backs. He won a gold glove that year.
Pollock joined the Dodgers and helped them win the World Series in 2020. He had his best season with the Blue Crew in 2021, when he slashed.300/.355/.536 with 21 home runs, 69RBI and nine stolen bases.
With Pollock set to become a free agent, the White Socks will have more money to spend in free agency. It's not clear if they will use that money to add another outfielder.
It is expected that Judge will be the most sought-after outfielder on the market, but players like Benintendi, Gallo, and Pederson might be more reasonable targets for the White Bulls.
