MLB Rumors: Dusty Baker, James Click to Be Offered New Astros Contracts for 2023

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Houston Astros owner Jim Crane will offer contracts to both managers.

He plans to return to the team.

He told reporters that he would be back. It's as easy as that.

The Astros won the World Series in a six game victory over Philadelphia. It was the first title for Baker after 25 years as a manager.

The Astros agreed to a one-year deal with Baker to stay as their manager. In that time, Houston has made three trips to the ALCS, two World Series appearances and one title.

Click joined the organization in 2020 as part of the organizational restructure after Houston fired manager Hinch and general manager Luhnow.

He worked his way up to vice president of baseball operations after 15 years with the Rays.

Most of the Astros' contributors have been in the organization for more than three years, but Click made aggressive moves to bolster the roster ahead of the trade deadline.

The team's leadership helped bring home another title.

Crane appreciated the hard work done by Click and Baker. They have done a great job.

The Astros will have work to do in the off-season, but they are well-equipped to contend for a title in the years to come.
