Jerry Jones -- Odell Beckham Jr. 'could look pretty good' with Cowboys

The club is trying to let Beckham know that they are interested in him.

Jerry Jones, the owner and general manager of the Cowboys, spoke on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Tuesday and said that Beckham is a competitor and knows that the Cowboys star on the field.

Beckham has 40 catches for 558 yards and seven touchdown in eight games against the Cowboys.

Mike McCarthy said on Monday that he has always been a huge fan ofBeckham and that his former and current assistants have vouched for him. Beckham was injured in the Super Bowl while playing for the Los Angeles Rams and is currently working on his recovery.

McCarthy said that all the guys from the New York Giants and ClevelandBrowns had great things to say about him. I've always been impressed with his football skills. I have heard a lot of good things about him.

Jones usually doesn't speak on any prospective free agents because of competitive reasons, but no visits with Beckham have been set so the team can see where he is in his recovery.

Beckham told Complex that when he signs with his next team, he would like it to be a multiyear deal. One of the teams he mentioned was the Cowboys.

I want to be able to spill my last -- not saying I only have three or four left, but these next three or four years into something where I can buy," he said. He said he's done the rock-and-roll life and is tired of living out of two week suitcases.

The Dallas Cowboys were in talks with the Houston Texans about a trade for Brandin Cooks before the deadline. Sources say they had talks with the Broncos about Jerry Jeudy.

The Cowboys have the 25th ranked pass offense and have not had a receiver have a 100 yard game. Jones said on The Fan that he thinks the passing game will get better, especially as the return of the quarterback from a thumb injury progresses. Jones said that Michael Gallup is getting better every day and that James Washington is close to returning from a broken foot.

I'm expecting more effective. Jones said that he was anticipating getting the ball out of there quickly and that he could see the passing game down the field. I like the way we're playing with our tight ends. We're improving at receiver. If we don't add something to the receiving corps, I'm happy with where we are.
