There was a total lunar eclipse visible from North America to the Pacific, but not in Europe.

The totality, where the Moon is completely obscured by the Earth's shadow, lasted between 10:17 and 11:41.

It was seen in parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

The next total lunar eclipse will take place on March 14, 2025.

During a lunar eclipse, the Moon turns red because the only sunlight reaching it passes through Earth's atmosphere.

The redder the Moon will appear if there are more clouds in the atmosphere. The moon is projected onto the world's sunrises and sunsets.
