The Rugby World Cup final between England and New Zealand will be refereeed by a Scottish woman.

She became Scottish Rugby's first full-time female referee in 2017.

Davidson was a referee for the rugby sevens at the 2020 Olympics.

When his name was read for the final, Davidson couldn't believe it.

This is a very proud moment.

The talent development manager for the World Rugby said that the year had been a great one for Hollie. She has been in charge of the Rugby World Cup Sevens and the women's finals at the Commonwealth games.

She was the first woman to referee a men's Six Nations game when she oversaw Italy's 38-31 win over Portugal. We would like to send our best wishes to Hollie.
