Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was told not to compete with former President Donald Trump for the White House as speculation mounts that the two GOP stalwarts could square off against each other for the Republican presidential nomination.
He told the crowd at the Ohio rally that running for president meant he would abandon his home state. At Monday's rally, Trump was expected to announce that he was running for president. He teased a big announcement that will be made on November 15.
"If anyone steps into the political ring and tries to challenge President Trump as far as being the Republican nominee for 2024, we feel like it's political suicide," Brian Glenn said at the rally. His race is to run.
I think it's clear and obvious, that's what he said.
She said that we need strong Republican governors like Ron DeSantis.
"We need strong Republican governors to fight, stay in for eight years and save their states, not to abandon their states and try to run for president or any other big position," said the author.
She urged anyone considering running against President Trump in the future to support him.
He hasn't announced a campaign, but he's been considered a strong contender for the GOP presidential nomination. The Democratic nominee for governor, Charlie Crist, has used the rhetoric of Greene that he would abandon his state if he ran for president.
When Crist asked if he would serve a full term if elected governor, DeSantis didn't reply.
