Police said a man threw a can at Cruz during the Astros victory parade.

The senator from Texas was hit in the chest and neck by a beer can at the parade in Houston celebrating the Astros' World Series win.

The male was arrested by HPD officers nearby. He was arrested and charged with assault.

A man blocks the can before it makes contact with the senator in the video. The crowd booed at the end. Cruz didn't need medical attention, according to police.

Cruz told Insider that he was thankful that the man had aoodle for an arm.

Cruz thanked the Houston Police and Capitol Police for their quick action. The clown who threw his White Claw had a noodle for an arm.
