Delta SkyMiles is far from my favorite mileage currency, but I appreciate that miles in the program have a "floor" value, based on all the ways there are to redeem SkyMiles for one cent each toward Delta purchases. Given how much travel they can give you, these bonuses are pretty rewarding.

Delta Gold Personal Amex: 65K SkyMiles

Within the first six months, the Delta SkyMiles ® Gold American Express Card has a welcome offer of 65,000 SkyMiles. The card has a fee for the first year.

Delta Platinum Personal Amex: 80K SkyMiles

After spending $4,000 in the first six months, the Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card has a welcome offer of 80,000 SkyMiles. The card costs $250 annually.

How many Delta Amex cards are you eligible for?

You can get a bonus on each Delta American Express card if you use it once. It is possible to get both the business and personal version of the Gold, Platinum, and Reserve over time, which will allow you to take advantage of many opportunities. A lot of people should be eligible for the bonuses on some of these cards.

Which Delta Amex offer is best?

Which Delta Amex offer is best depends on what you are looking for. My general advice goes as far as it can go.

• If you’re just a casual Delta flyer, it’s hard to go wrong with the big bonuses and waived first year fees on the Delta Gold cards
• For those who fly Delta a bit more often, the Delta Platinum cards are great, given the annual companion certificate
• For the frequent Delta flyer who is going for status, the Delta Reserve cards are the best cards for earning status, and also offer the most compelling perks
• If you’re deciding between a personal and business card (and don’t want both), then I’d generally recommend a business card, given that the welcome offers are a bit better

Delta's "Pay With Miles" feature will allow you to redeem your SkyMiles for at least one cent each towards the cost of a Delta ticket. It will take 100,000 SkyMiles to get you a minimum of 1,000 flights.

The Delta Amex cards have increased their welcome offers. You can earn SkyMiles from 65,000 to 100,000 if you complete minimum spending and use the "Pay With Miles" feature.

This is a great opportunity to pick up a Delta Amex. That is a lot of value even if you are cashing out miles at one cent per mile. If you haven't yet applied, this is the final chance to do so.
