Dozens of employees are being asked to come back after they were laid off.

Two people familiar with the moves say that some of those who are being asked to return were laid off. Others were let go before management realized that their work and experience may be necessary to build the new features Musk envisions.

Less than a week after it was bought by Musk, the company laid off about 50 percent of its workforce. People were laid off. Many employees lost their jobs because of the suspension of company-wide systems. There were requests for employees to come back to show how chaotic the process was.

According to reports, laid off workers were asked to return to work on Saturday. Business Insider reported that a worker who was asked to return rejected the offer because they thought they would be fired soon.

Paid verification delayed until after Tuesday election

According to reports, the implementation of Musk's plan to verify accounts for $8 a month has been delayed. The paid verification was going to be rolled out "starting today" according to the release notes. The change is not live yet, according to a company official.

News reports confirm the delay. A source with knowledge of the decision confirmed to CNN that account verifications will be delayed until after the election.

The verification could launch this week. The change will be delayed until Wednesday in order to avoid potential chaos during the election. Employees were ordered by Musk to change by November 7.

According to the lawsuit, the layoffs violated the federal and state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification laws, which require 60 days' advance written notice before mass layoffs. In June, laid-off workers filed a lawsuit.

"Unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4 million per day," Musk wrote. Everyone who left was offered three months of severance, which is 50% more than the law requires.
