Not the Same ol’ Jets??

When Scott Hanson says "BYE-magddon", there is a reason to be concerned about the quality of football on TV. Six teams were off for the first fortnight of the season. The most boring week of football this season was when four teams were on a bye.

The Week 7 BYE-mageddon last season resulted in not a single game that Sunday finishing with a one- score margin of victory, and the Thursday and Monday games that did were as exciting as the fireworks in the grocery store. The league added a second BYE-mageddon this season after seeing last season's dud of a week with six teams on bye.

Football fans should be prepared to leave their seats as often as Hanson does if there is half the entertainment that yesterday provided. Many of the Week 9 games were close, and a few teams that were perceived to be good, but not elite, let it be known that they are ready to play.

It is hoped that Tuesday's elections will bring some positive vibes.

Geno Smith goes on a late-game tear and now the Seahawks are 6-3

Smith's pick-six midway through the third quarter was one of the reasons why the Seahawks were counted out. The Arizona Cardinals needed a big play to take the lead at home, and that was what they got with that big play.

G/O Media may get a commission

All but one of the Seahawks possessions ended in a touchdown. They ran out the clock with a knee on the last play. After the pick-six, Smith led two 13-play drives that ended in touchdown. Their third touchdown drive was led by a swing pass to Noah Fant.

The Seattle Seahawks didn't make the playoffs last year, so little was expected of them this year. With a slim division lead, they could have crumbled and put their playoff hopes in jeopardy, but they responded and are now 6-3. One of the best statistical performers in the league at his position is a quarterback who plays for the Seattle Seahawks.

The New York Jets are neither a joke nor a fluke

Steve Young, who failed to produce in the NFL the way that he did in college, is not being seperated from the other quarterbacks. Normally, his performance would be graded on a curve, but not this year.

The Jets knocked off the best team in the league, the Buffalo Bills, on Sunday, and are now 6-3. Wilson's performance did little to prove he was worth the No. 2overall pick, but a strong defensive performance and rushing attack led the way to a victory.

The Jets only gave up three points the rest of the game after they were down 14-3 in the second quarter. Josh Allen averaged 6 yards per completion. He ran for 86 yards and two scores, but no one else for the Bills ran for more than four yards per carry.

While the Bills averaged more yards per carry, the Jets rushed for 40 more total yards and had strong performances out of multiple players. The Jets seem to be more than an early-season feel-good story with their defense putting a padlock on the Bills. They are a team that is doing well. The head coach has those receipts.

Count out the Tennessee Titans at your own peril

There are more injuries for the team. They will play 17 games this season, instead of four, because of the A.J. Brown trade. The pain of that loss to the wide receiver corps was supposed to be alleviated by the first-round pick, but he is currently on injured reserve. Up and down the depth chart of the team, they have been without key players for much of the season, and even though he is one of the world's greatest athletes, he hasn't looked like it. Ryan Tannehill has been on the inactive list for a week in a row.

The Kansas City Chiefs were held to 20 points by the TennesseeTitans on Sunday Night Football. Even though he didn't complete a single pass to a wide receiver, Henry looked like the athletic specimen that he was at Alabama.

All of the success that the Chiefs had on the ground was due to the runs that Mahomes made on the final drive. The rest of the league was put on notice by the Titans. They can beat teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders. It will be necessary to take down the No. 1 seed in order to win the title.
