In the wake of Sunday's 4-1 home defeat by the Falcons, the Saints have decided to part ways with their manager.
After 14 games, Hasenhuttl leaves with the club in the bottom half of the table.
The last time they won was at Bournemouth on October 19th.
It is an appropriate time to make a change according to a statement from the club.
Ruben Selles will be the first team coach for the game.
The inability to score goals has been a problem for Hasenhuttl's team.
He said after the game that he was not concerned about losing his job, but the board decided to act before the game with the Reds. The World Cup runs from 20 November to 18 December and the last game before the break is theirs.
Hasenhuttl made a significant contribution to the club, overseeing some memorable results and also playing a key role in the development of the club infrastructure, identity and playing squad.
Hasenhuttl is the fifth manager to lose his job this season.
The dismissals of Scott Parker, Bruno Lage, Thomas Tuchel, and Steven Gerrard were all by different teams.
There's more to come.
