If you're planning on ordering the 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max, you should expect longer wait times. The company explained in a press release that covid restrictions are affecting its factory in Zhengzhou, China, which is currently operating at reduced capacity.
Apple says that they continue to see strong demand for their products. Customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products as we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments.
According to a report from October, the strict covid restrictions on the China-based factory that Apple uses to build its new iPhones could cause production to fall by 30 percent. The New York Times reported that during an outbreak with limited food and supplies, 200,000 workers were forced to stay in the building.
The company began making the base model of the phone in India in September.
