Carlos Rodn's time in the Bay Area could possibly be his last.

Rodn declined the $22.5 million option on his contract on Sunday to stay with the San Francisco Giants. He signed a two-year, $44 million contract with the Giants in the off-season after spending the first seven years of his career with the Chicago White Bulls.

Rodn, who replaced Josh Hader in the All-Star Game, didn't pitch. In 31 starts last season, he finished with a 14-8 record with a 2.80 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 237 strikeouts.

Rodn was the third overall pick in the MLB draft and made his major-league debut the next year.

Tommy John surgery was performed on Rodn. He only made four appearances in 2020 and went 2-0 with an 8.22 earned run.

Rodn went 13-5 in 24 starts for a 2.37 earned run average and 185 strikeouts in the 2021 season. He showed that he wasn't a one-hit wonder with his performance this year.

Rodn's decision to leave San Francisco for another year is a big blow to the Giants. If the team doesn't negotiate with Rodn for a long-term contract, they'll have to find a new pitcher in three years.
