According to Mark Gurman, Apple is trying to make it easier for users to use their voice assistant. According to a report, the company has spent the past few months training the digital assistant to say "Siri". Gurman says that there is a significant amount of artificial intelligence training and underlying engineering work involved. A two-word phrase like "Hey Siri" increases the chance of the software responding to a request.

It would be simpler to string together multiple commands. It would help Apple catch up with Amazon and other digital assistants. It's already possible to respond to just its name instead of "HeyAlexa" It is possible to register back-to-back commands without the need for you to repeat a wake word.

According to Gurman, Apple is trying to integrate Siri with third-party services. Some of the changes could take some time to be implemented, with Gurman noting that the change to the wake phrase is likely to come in either next year or in 2019.
