Ryan Reynolds joined the site on Tuesday with a set about fanfiction. The move was thought to be an indication that celebrities may be looking elsewhere for engagement as the future of the platform is more uncertain. I was not the only one.
He replied to his first post that he didn't have $8. A user wrote, "I hope that any real Twitter refugees figure out the culture of the site before calling us 'new' and acting like it's a joke."
Other users on the site were more friendly. One told them to enjoy the site. "You might be the only celeb who can survive without getting dunked on so hard you quit, but also: at what cost?" asked a user. You're going to raise our homeowner's association fees.
Reynold's historically well- timed promotional marketing prowess is demonstrated by the fact that histumblr is not a desperate leap.
A day after dropping the trailer for his new movie, Reynolds created a Tumblr. He tagged the set from the movie with a bunch of related and random topics, just like a native of the site.
In the last year, the actor and director has promoted his multiple business ventures, including films like Pokemon: Detective Pikachu and the Deadpool franchise, with short clips and trailers posted on the internet. It was just the beginning.
As of yesterday, when Reynolds posted an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Gif doctored to include his own face, people were convinced that he belonged. One applauded when they said that they had been here 11 minutes and already posted. It was outstanding. A user sounded a bit reassured. They said they were not worried about the wolves eating him up.
Reynolds, welcome to the club.
