Apple TV+ has released the first full-length trailer for Spike Jonze's new Beastie Boys documentary, Beastie Boys Story. The film tells the story of three friends who came together to inspire each other and an entire generation.

Featuring archival footage of the legendary New York hip-hop group, the picture also serves as a live documentary experience where Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz detail intimate stories about their musical career as well as their 40 years of friendship. The documentary is directed by longtime friend and collaborator of the Beastie Boys, Spike Jonze.

In the trailer we see the group hitting the stage hard and partying even harder, that is until the third member, now-deceased Adam Yauch, helped them find their creative voice through a calmer, more focused approach.

Beastie Boys Story was slated to premiere this month at SXSW 2020, but the film festival has since been canceled due to the novel coronavirus. The documentary is still set to release in IMAX theaters on April 2 and on Apple TV+ April 24.
