World's tallest woman takes her first plane flight after airline removes 6 economy seats to make it possible

The world's tallest woman was able to fly on a plane for the first time after six economy seats were removed.

Last year, Rumeysa Gelgi was named the world's tallest woman.

Turkish Airlines adapted one of their planes to allow her to travel to San Francisco in September, removing six seats and replacing them with a special stretcher for her.

Gelgi has a condition called Weaver syndrome that causes bone overgrowth and has never been able to travel on a plane. She wasn't able to fit in plane seats as a child.

Due to her condition, she uses a wheelchair or walker frequently.

Gelgi shared a series of images of herself on the journey and said that it was a flawless journey from beginning to end.

My first flight will not be the last. I can't wait to fly to different parts of the world with Turkish Airlines. She thanked everyone involved in her journey.

Gelgi went to California to work with Guinness World Records while she was there.

Gelgi was recognized as the world's tallest living teenager and the world's tallest woman in the same year.

She holds the record for being the woman with the longest finger in the world.
