Kevin Durant wants to join Commanders' new ownership group

Kevin is a lifelong fan of the Washington Commanders and is hopeful that he can be a part of their new ownership group.

The Brooklyn Nets star forward is keeping an eye on the potential sale of the team.

Bank of America Securities was hired by the Commanders to explore potential transactions involving the team.

In a perfect world, I'd be a part of it. I'd love to do it. I would like to be a part of the Commanders, but I don't know if I will be able to. I hope it's nice. You never know, I heard Bezos and Jay-Z.

A person with knowledge of the situation told John Keim that Bezos has interest in the team and that Jay-Z might partner with him. Mat Ishbia expressed his interest in the Denver Broncos ownership bid. The man who made a bid on the Broncos said he would be interested.

He was surprised to hear that the team was up for sale.

How long has he been using it? "I said that." He's the only owner I've known since I joined the team. He put them up because it's his baby. Football teams are important.

Everybody wants to be a part of that team. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of interest in the team.

The Commanders are a sleeping giant in the NFL and the young pieces are in place for Washington to start winning games, according to the man. After Friday's win over the Washington Wizards, a video was posted on the Nets' social media account showing a player giving his jersey to another player.

He is part of an ownership group for a sports team. He purchased a 5% stake in the Philadelphia Union of the MLS in 2020. In March, he became a minority owner of NY/NJ Gotham FC. He became a co-owner of a team with Rich Kleiman. In the past he has discussed his desire of having an NBA team of his own once his career is over, but he says the potential to be part of the Washington ownership group hits closer to home.

"I would probably stay more of a fan than try to get involved with the team." It would be great to be a part of that group for my family. If I were to be in that situation, I would just get closer to the team. Try to get closer to the players by learning the business, front-office and coach's perspective.

He is trying to keep his hopes low. He didn't agree with the idea that his name and accomplishments would be accepted from a variety of new ownership groups. He knows that the amount of money he has made in and out of basketball is not comparable to the amount of money the Commanders have.

He said yes when asked if he would like to be part of the ownership group. I don't have a lot of cash. I don't have the money to say "Look, man, let me get a piece of the team" It would have to work out somehow. I think it's unlikely that it will happen. The team is worth five billion dollars.
