According to a report from Mark Gurman, Apple wants to change the phrase "Hey Siri" to "Siri" Say "Siri" followed by a command and the smart assistant will be activated.

According to Gurman, Apple has been working on this feature for the past few months and is expected to release it next year or in 2019. To get the feature to function properly, Apple will have to put in a significant amount of artificial intelligence training and engineering work. The current two-word phrase, "Hey Siri," increases the chance that the computer will pick it up.

If you switch to a single wake word, it will make it easier for you to use the smart assistant instead of the other way around. You don't have to repeat the wake word when saying back-to-back commands if you use the "Ok Google" or "Hey Google" phrases. The voice assistant on smart speakers was shut down by Microsoft last year.

The shorter phrase is expected to be one of the changes coming to the device. According to Gurman, Apple could make improvements to its ability to understand and process users' requests, as well as integrate it into third party apps and services. A new voice recorded by a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer community was added to the voice assistant.
