The "Today" show segment that aired yesterday about the attack on Paul Pelosi did not meet NBC's reporting standards.

According to the report by NBC News National Correspondent, Paul Pelosi answered the door of the police officers before he was attacked, but instead walked back towards his attacker and away from the police.

A person with knowledge of the situation said that the segment was removed after it was determined that the main source for the information was unreliable.

NBC wanted to know how far the attacker was from the door.

Officials have said that Pelosi was fighting with the attacker when they arrived and entered the home after responding to his call.

"Why Pelosi didn't try to flee or tell responding officers he was in distress is unclear," The Washington Post reported.

There are many conspiracy theories surrounding the attack on the husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Conservative commentators saw the report as proof that the false theories were true.

"Paul Pelosi opened the door for police, didn't run outside or flee, instead he walked back to the nudist and was attacked with a hammer." The story keeps getting weirder according to Clay.

Tucker Carlson reported on the NBC segment after it was pulled.

Pelosi was released from the hospital on Thursday, a day after he was injured in the attack. According to the San Francisco District Attorney, the attack was politically motivated because of statements made by DePape. Federal and state felony charges have been filed against DePape.
