The cross connection with Tiffany Cross is no longer going on.
MSNBC canceled Tiffany Cross' Saturday morning news show after less than two years. The move was made after Cross became a target of attacks.
In a statement, Cross said she was "disheartened" to learn of the decision, which came "abruptly, surprising many of us."
According to The Washington Post, the president of MSNBC was heavily involved in the call to cut ties with Cross. The Post reported that a rotating cast of hosts will fill the time slot until a solution is found.
The show began in late 2020 after a summer of mass protests against police brutality.
Cross said that with progress there is always backlash. It's not the right time to retreat to politics or business. The last two years at MSNBC have changed the way politics are discussed and policy is explained.
It is becoming more dangerous to speak the truth as political violence increases. I've been in journalism for more than two decades. My narrative won't be affected by the attacks on me from other outlets.
The Anti-Defamation League criticized Carlson for airing a segment about Cross. The host said that Cross was fomenting a race war.
Carlson compared MSNBC and The Cross Connection with Tiffany Cross to a media outlet in the country of Rwanda.
Is it possible that they know what's going on on their channel? Is they okay with this? Carlson wanted to know about MSNBC's corporate leadership.
The network didn't reply to HuffPost's request on Saturday.
The ADL said that Carlson had used his platform to stoke racial tensions and accused a black host of inciting a genocide against white people.
The group denounced his insinuation and trivialization of the genocide.
In an essay for The Grio published at the same time her show was set to debut on MSNBC, Cross expressed excitement at having the chance to answer viewers' questions about politics.
She said there were no dumb questions.
