The Japanese have quite an obsession with sex. As a country, they have one of the most robust adult-toy and pornography industries in the world. Some of their TV commercials for even the most non-sexual items are pretty suggestive (NSFW warning). And where else are you going to see fertility festivals that include images and models of male sexual organs just about everywhere? (NSFW warning: lots of adult images) So is it any wonder they opened an 18+ theme park of sorts in Tokyo, and even now, years later, it’s thriving?

The park was designed by Japan's most prominent adult film producer/distributor, Soft on Demand.

Shinjuku is located in Tokyo. It is a building with several floors and a different theme each time.

  • The basement is the “Newcomer Adult Film Actress Floor.” The space has a bar that serves both food and drink, and guests are served by adult film stars who are newer to the business.
  • The first floor is where the entrance is, as well as a gift shop and photo booth.
  • The second floor is called the Kakubutsu Salon and it’s where guests can drink with women who work in the fuzoku industry (fuzoku is what’s used to describe “prostitution” in Japanese, except it includes anything except actual intercourse). It encompasses hostess bars, erotic massage, and other risqué entertainment services.
  • The third floor is the Famous Adult Actress Floor, and guests are able to talk and mingle with more well-known and established adult film stars. Or, as SOD describes it, “A space of dreams where you can become friends with famous adult film actresses while drinking.”
  • Finally, the fourth floor is the Silent Bar. SOD actresses wearing bikinis mix drinks for customers behind a one-way mirror. Private conversation between the guests, “is strictly prohibited in order to allow them to quietly contemplate the view.”

The Sun sent the PC to SOD Land.

Japan is being very careful because of the age of carbon dioxide. Customers are required to wear masks on the premises.

There is a website that can be found here. I was unsuccessful in finding an English version of it.

Your Mileage May Vary was the first post to appear.

This is the only reason to go to Japan again. The Making of Harry Potter will be opening in Japan. The opening of the wizarding world was at Universal.

There are theme parks in Disney, Universal and other places.

A few months ago, I wrote a post about our visit to Nara Dreamland, a theme park that opened in the 1960s. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Disneyland should have been flattered by Nara Dreamland.

It is a bold statement to say that a show is the greatest of all time. I used to think a theme park show was a bad idea. It was more than just a good park.
