Nottingham Forest 2-2 Brentford: Morgan Gibbs-White feels Forest were cheated out of victory

Morgan Gibbs-White said that his side were cheated out of three points after they conceded a questionable penalty.

Dean Henderson clipped Yoane Wissa in the box after sticking his glove out in a one-on-one.

The VAR advised the referee to look at the incident on the monitor after he didn't award the spot-kick.

"I didn't know what the referee had seen, I looked at the penalty back and didn't know what he had seen," said the woman. We used our anger to get back into the game.

Fans booed and berated the decision to award the penalty, which was converted by Bryan Mbeumo, as players surrounded the referee.

Despite a late goal which salvaged a point for the home side at the City Ground, Forest were still frustrated.

We should have gotten three points because we got an equalizing goal at the end. I am happy we did not get no points.

'We feel hard done by'

Steve Cooper was angry at the lack of consistency in Marriner's decisions.

There should be four penalties in the game if that is the case. He should look at the other three if he has to.

The Forest captain appealed for a spot-kick after Josh Dasilva shoved Ryan Yates, but nothing was given after a lengthy video review.

Cooper said that they felt the one on Dennis in the first half was worse than the one on Yates in the second half.

The VAR didn't see fit to intervene when Gibbs-White hurdled the defender in the second half, but he did take a nick while doing it.

It's pretty obvious that we feel hard done by. The system let the ref down. Cooper said that they were feeling that luck was against them but that the goals they conceded were also against them.

It was great to show heart in the end and get something out of the game, but I'm not happy with myself.

I have to take a step back and look at the whole performance.

Thomas Frank said he thought the foul on Wissa should have resulted in a penalty, but praised the referee.

It was hard for the referee. He did a great job. He decided to trust them because he believes in trust.

With 10 points from 14 games, Forest is the bottom of the league.
