It's possible that the Kevin Durant sweepstakes will return soon.

The NBA is ready to re-engage in trade discussions centered around the Brooklyn Nets star, according to a report from the Lowe Post. He said at the 26:24 mark that the vultures are going to circle on the player.

The front office could be more receptive to the idea of a trade after all the changes that have taken place.

The Nets were confident that they could contend for a title with the help of KD and Irving. They are 3-6 and 12th in the conference.

Ben Simmons' return to form was crucial to Brooklyn's title hopes. His 5.7 shot attempts per game are less than half of his career average and he is dealing with a knee problem.

Steve Nash was let go because of the team's start. There's only so much the staff can do with a team that's 26th in the NBA in defensive rating.

Irving created more drama by sharing a link to an antisemitic film on social media. The Nets suspended him for a minimum of five games after he failed to apologize or change his mind about the movie.

After the suspension was issued, Irving apologized on his social media accounts.

It raises the question as to whether the Nets are prolonging the inevitable by keeping him, or if they are avoiding the full-scale rebuild that would cause him to leave. The next crisis is right around the corner for Brooklyn.

The Nets are expected to put on a strong face for a while so that they don't rush it. He thinks the 12-time All-Star may not try to force his way out now because of how it would be seen.

Nothing will happen before the Feb. 9 trade deadline. You can't help but think that his days in Brooklyn are done.
