And or.

Disney Plus

If you haven't heard by now, Andor is something special even if you don't like most of the new Star Wars content. The series, which did not seem like a particularly compelling concept at first, is actually absolutely fantastic, and its Force-free vision of the Rebellion and Empire is easily one of the best things we've seen out of this era of Star Wars. The popular Mandalorian is included.

Andor is unpopular. The data shows that it is the lowest watched/talked about Disney Plus Star Wars series by a large margin. It has no big stars, no lightsaber fights, and it has been hard to sell.

Fans of Andor don't need to worry about the second season. Disney committed to Andor for a fixed run of two, twelve episode seasons before season 1 even aired, using the locations they build out for two seasons, like an entire rebel city. The second season of Andor will begin on November 21. We don't have a release date for season 2 yet, but early 2024 is a safe bet.

The reason that season 1 has worked so well is due to the fact that Dan and Beau will be back in season 2. Hopefully they keep the same team in place, not just for Andor season 2, but also for anything they want to do next.

If Disney was smart, they should allow Tony to do whatever he wants with whatever team members he wants to bring with him. The original Bourne trilogy was written by Gilroy as well. You can see some of the same vibes from that movie here.

We don't know what will happen after Andor. The Disney Star Wars paychecks are large and he has created what could be the best offering in this new era of the Star Wars universe.

It would be great to see a take on Jedi politics from Gilroy. I don't think the nuances of the Jedi have been explored all that well to date, so not that I want more Skywalkers and Palpatines and lightsaber fights. It's possible that this is a High Republic era series, which we know Disney is going to start pushing, beginning with The Acolyte, or something set with the Jedi Council in the prequel era. I don't know what a new project might be, but this is just my personal wish.

You can watch Andor. It is thought to be slow. You should keep watching. Don't stop. It is worth it.
