  • Matthew said that Bruce was a guest star on "Friends".

  • The costar of "The Whole Nine Yards" was unsure if the film would be a hit, so they bet on it.

  • He appeared as Paul Stevens on the sixth season.

The "Die Hard" star lost a bet with the sitcom actor and that's why he played the character of Friends.

In his new memoir, " Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing," which was released on Tuesday, the author recalled meeting the two actors who played Oz Oseransky and Jimmy Tudeski in "The Whole Nine Yards."

Even though he was struggling with his alcohol and drug addictions, they developed a friendship while working on the movie.

The difference between Bruce and me was large. I was an addiction to Bruce. There is an on-off button. After partying like crazy, he can get a script like "The Sixth Sense" and stop partying. He is not an alcoholic.

He said that despite the partying, they were all pros on that movie and turned out a huge crowd pleaser.

If Bruce lost, he would have to do a guest spot on 'Friends'.

"The Whole Nine Yards" became the No. 1 movie in America for three weeks in a row.

After losing the bet, he guest starred on the sixth season of "Friends" as Paul Stevens, the father of a college girl.

Paul had a brief romance with Rachel Green, the character he played in the show. The star won an award for his performance in a comedy series.

The man said that he has fond memories of getting to know the man off camera.

He said Bruce and he would sit and talk at the end of the night when the party was over. I saw the real Bruce Willis, a good-hearted man, a caring man, and selfish. A great parent. An excellent actor. A good man is most important.

I would be his friend for the rest of my life. Our paths rarely crossed after that.
