Twitter cut 15 percent of its trust and safety staff but says it won’t impact moderation

The company just laid off half of its workforce, but its core moderation capabilities are still in place.

The frontline moderation staff of the Trust and Safety group had the least impact on the layoffs. The company restricted access to some internal tools last week for security reasons, but most of the content reviewers who did frontline reviews weren't affected.

The daily volume ofmoderation actions taken has stayed steady, though only supported by a vague chart showing the volume oftweet Musk claimed on Friday that he had seen a decline in hate speech this week.

Helping with lost password requests is one of the things that has had to be prioritized by the company. They are trying to get these back online.

Election integrity remains a top priority, even though moderation on the social media site has been a concern. Last week, Musk said that a content moderation council would be implemented, and on Friday he said that the commitment to moderation remained the same.
