According to the panel, former President Donald Trump has until next week to turn over his records to the committee.
The chair and vice chair of the committee, Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney, said in a statement on Friday that they had been in contact with Trump's lawyers regarding their subpoena for documents and testimony.
The former President and his counsel sent a letter to the Select Committee. The former President's counsel has been told that he must begin producing records by next week and that he is under a subpoena for deposition testimony.
The first deadline for Trump to turn over documents was Friday.
The representatives for Trump did not reply immediately.
The January 6 committee voted unanimously to subpoena the former president, saying they had "overwhelming evidence" that he orchestrated and oversaw a multi-part effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election and to obstruct the peaceful transition of power.
Texts and phone calls are among the records the committee wants.
The committee has been dismissed by Trump many times. Cheney said they were in talks with Trump's lawyers about him sitting for a deposition, but it's not clear if he will testify.
