Nick Kyrgios: Australian tennis player settles legal case with Wimbledon fan he accused of being drunk

A legal case has been settled between Nick Kyrgios and a woman he accused of being drunk during the Wimbledon final.

The solicitors were instructed to bring defamation proceedings against the Australian.

The world number 22 was in a Grand Slam final for the first time.

The fan looked like she had had 700 drinks according to the player.

She accused the Australian Open doubles champion of a "reckless and entirely baseless allegation".

In a statement via Knight Temple Law, the man apologized and said he would pay a sum to charity.

"I told the umpire that a fan, who I now know to be Anna Palus, was trying to distract me during the match," he said.
