Mark Canha has some good news for New York Mets fans if they think Jacob deGrom is keeping his teammates updated on what he wants to do.

According to Canha, deGrom wants to stay with the Mets.

Jake told me that he would like to come back, too. Canha made a statement. I'm hoping for Jake.

The Mets have a lot of big decisions to make this off-season with their own players, and no one from other teams they might want to pursue.

According to Spotrac, the Mets will have the highest payroll in Major League Baseball in the upcoming season. Philadelphia is second with $172 million in salary commitments.

Brandon Nimmo is their top free agent. SNY.tv reported earlier this week that the Mets are "prioritizing" Daz and Nimmo over the other free agents.

Daz could be the first person to sign a contract worth at least 100 million dollars, according to Jeff Passan. There were 32 saves, a 1.31 ERA and 118 strikeouts for the right-handed pitcher.

Nimmo should be able to get at least 100 million dollars from a team. He plays a premium position in center field and has an.827 career batting average.

It's hard to know what the market will be for deGrom. Over the past two seasons, he has only been able to make 26 starts because of injuries.

In August, DeGrom made his debut. His pitches averaged 98.9 mph and 90.7 mph, respectively.

DeGrom has never been to an organization other than the Mets. He was selected in the ninth round of the 2010 MLB draft.

It would make sense for the Mets to sign deGrom to a new contract. Steve Cohen wants to win a World Series. Their 101 victories during the regular season were tied for second most in the NL.
