The plan by Musk to put a few thousand employees out of work is going very fast. Workers received an email on Thursday night telling them if they still have a job by Friday morning. In a move almost as cruel as the layoffs themselves, email will be used to convey that information.

The stay of execution will be communicated to the employee's email address by this weekend. Ben Collins of NBC News said that their colleagues will get the news in their personal email accounts. Emails are expected to arrive on Friday.

Everyone was told to go home and wait for their fate after the office closed.

"We recognize that this will impact a number of individuals who have made valuable contributions toTwitter, but this action is unfortunately necessary to ensure the company's success moving forward," the email said.

Thanks for adhering to the policies that prohibit you from discussing company information on social media with the press or elsewhere. As we move through this process, we would like to thank you for your patience.

As the ship goes down, employees at the company are posting a saluting symbol in the company's chat room. The meme compares Musk's staff cuts to the plan to kill half of the universe's population.

There is no secret who was behind the email. Musk has been vocal about wanting to lay off a huge swathe ofTwitter's workforce as soon as possible, having started firing people the day his takeover was finalized It has been speculated that the number of employees who will lose their jobs could be as high as 75%.

After initially trying to back out of the acquisition, Musk has been trying to squeeze more money out of the company. There are huge staff cuts and a lot of unpopular changes to the platform.

The layoffs are terrible and will negatively impact the quality of the service, but hopefully some employees will find a way to use them. According to Collins, a few people are hoping to be laid off so they can get a new job.

It's no wonder people are looking for doors because of Musk's crazy deadlines and the threat of unemployment.
