The seats of the airline will be wider and more comfortable in the beginning of next year.
The seats on the new planes will be introduced in late January. Thirty-three of those aircraft are going to be taken by Spirit in the next five years.
A half-inch of additional width will be added to the seats manufactured by Hong Kong-based Haeco Cabin Solutions. The width of the window and aisle seats will be raised by one inch. The width of the middle seats will be increased.
The Big Front Seat will be in the first row of the plane.
The carrier said that the new aircraft will have more cushion than the seats it will have on its existing fleet.
Big Front Seats will have seatbacks that are almost an inch farther back than the existing product, which will make it easier to reach tray tables.
The new aircraft will not give you more space between rows. The curved seatback designs that the carrier introduced in the upgrade will offer more space at knee level. The airline says that the curved seats have 2 inches more knee space than flat back seats.
"Our cabin refresh in 2019 was a significant enhancement in the guest experience, and these new seats are another great step forward in increasing value for our guests," said Lania Rittenhouse, the vice president of guest experience.
