According to a report, Apple stopped hiring for most jobs outside of research and development. Apple implemented a plan in July to slow hiring and spending in order to cut costs.
The pause in hiring doesn't apply to teams working on future devices and long term initiatives, but it will affect corporate functions and standard hardware and software engineering roles.
The hiring process at Apple is on hold as the company still lists open jobs on its website. Insider reported earlier this week that Apple has stopped almost all hiring. Apple won't be hiring new people for several months, possibly through the end of September, according to staff.
According to Insider's sources, Apple has not provided budgets for new hires, and that budgets within the company are under review.
Because of the current economic environment, Apple is taking a very deliberate approach in some parts of the business, according to a statement from the company.

Apple said during the earnings call that it would see slowing growth during the holiday quarter. Mac sales are expected to fall as Apple doesn't plan to introduce any Macs in late 2022. There are no new products expected to launch this year.
