The jury got it wrong when it ruled in favor of his ex- wife on a single count of defamation. Johnny was the big winner when the jury came back in their landmark trial, saying that Amber had defamed him and had to cough up $10.35 million dollars, but it also ruled that she was defaming him. Johnny said in the court of appeals that the jury had wrongly ruled in favor of Amber and that one of his attorneys, Adam Waldman, had defamed her. Waldman said that Amber and her friends spilled a little wine and roughed the place up, got their stories straight under the direction of a lawyer and publicist, and then placed a second call to the police. Johnny made a point in the appeal that he shouldn't be held responsible for Waldman's comments. He says Waldman's team didn't prove that he made those comments with malice. Johnny would like the court to overturn the jury's verdict. The counts she lost have been appealed. Johnny's $2 million check to her is on hold, as well as Amber's $10.35 million check to Johnny.
