The only difference between the Fire HD 8 and Fire 7 is the screen size, but there is more going on here. The Fire HD 8 has a higher resolution screen, a bigger battery, a faster processor, more default storage, and a more modern appearance. There is a need for a cheaper tablets for light users and for kids.

An inch doesn't seem like a big deal when it comes to screen size, but the 8-inch display on the Fire HD 8 feels more significant thanks to a higher resolution.

The Fire HD 8 has a screen resolution of 800 x 600, while the 7 has a screen resolution of 800 x 600. The HD 8 can display common 720p video resolutions without the need for scaling, even though the difference is small. It's possible to make a video seem blurry.

The Fire HD 8 will be better for viewing high definition video.

The Fire HD 8 has a faster processor that will allow it to keep up with newer applications. Double the storage is what it comes with. The smaller of the HD 8s has a choice of 64 or 32 gigabytes of storage. Both models can be expanded.

Both tablets get a boost in battery life. The Fire 7 had a battery life of up to 10 hours. 13 hours on a charge is what the Fire HD 8 is capable of. It's even more important when you know that the tablets don't support fast charging. It takes five hours for the larger model to be charged.

The Fire HD 8 has dual speakers and is the better choice for watching videos or playing games.

One of the other best Android tablets may be a better choice if you need more performance than these options can provide. Amazon has many options when it comes to price.

Both of these tablets are excellent low-cost options, but both have drawbacks. The Fire 7 kids version has extra protection. It's still a good option if you can only afford the cheaper one.

If you're looking for a decent, low-cost tablets to consume media, browse the web, check your email, and play some games on, the Fire HD 8 is the one to get. The extra performance and better screen are worth more than the price.
