Irving didn't apologize for promoting the film on social media.

Irving was asked if he was sorry for the hurt that his posts caused.

He said he took his responsibility for posting that. There were some things that were not true. When I was sitting on that stage, I didn't believe everything that was posted. A documentary is what it is. I'm responsible.

Irving said he wasn't the person who made the film, and that he didn't mean to cause any harm.

Kyrie Irving says he didn't mean to cause any harm in sharing a post to a film that has been described as anti-Semitic:

He said that in a statement issued as part of a joint announcement made by him and the Nets.

He said that he opposed all forms of hatred and oppression. I take responsibility for the negative impact of my post on the Jews.

Irving did not apologize, but he did say that he did not believe everything in the documentary was true.

One of the "five major falsehoods" preached by the "Jewish controlled media in America" is the claim that six million Jews died in the Holocaust.

Holocaust denial is a symptom of antisemitism in the radical right, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Irving was asked if he has any antisemitic beliefs, but he didn't give an answer.

He said this is not going to turn into a cycle of questions upon questions because he doesn't know how the label becomes justified. I told you how I was feeling. I embrace every walk of life. I sit that way.

Irving said he couldn't be antisemitic if he knew where he came from.

According to the New York Daily News, Irving's father and stepmother spoke with ADL officials after the posts. Bondy said that the seven-time All-Star was not at the meeting.

Irving didn't say whether he met with any ADL representatives, but he said the matter was handled.

The Nets and NBA didn't punish the 30-year-old for his actions. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he would meet with Irving in person and that the veteran point guard made a reckless decision to post a link to a film.
