There was an exchange between Musk and King a couple of days ago, where Musk was trying to negotiate the price of a blue check mark.

It appears that round two may have started.

The news that Musk was considering charging users $20 per month to keep their verification badges started the whole thing. King didn't like the idea and made his feelings known. After responding, Musk suggested $8 a month instead of the previously suggested $20 a month.

It was confirmed on Wednesday. King was not impressed.

The horror author began with a friendly message about Musk and the car company.

He thought of Tom Sawyer, who was given the job of white washing a fence as punishment. Tom convinces his friends to do the chore for him and then gets them to pay for it. That's what Musk would like to do. No, no, no!

The price reduction to $8 doesn't seem to have appeased him. Musk hasn't responded yet. This post will be updated if he does.
