WhatsApp launches Communities, but it might be a while until you get them

The original announcement was made in April but the Communities are now live.

Sort of.

Communities will be available to everyone over the next few months, but I haven't seen them yet.

Super-groups can be used to unite multiple groups and users. The feature is suggested to work best for neighborhoods, parents at a school, and workplace.

You'll see aCommunities tab at the bottom of your app if you got the feature in it. If you've already created a Community, you can start a new one.

Communities are protected by end-to-end encryption which is not the case with other services.

The ability to create polls was added to the app. Video calls can now host 32 people, and groups have also been expanded to accommodate more than one thousand users.
