WhatsApp gets better for big groups with new Communities and 32-person video chats

Changes to the app will make it better to use for large circles of people and will be rolled out over time.

A community is designed to house multiple related groups within a larger organization. admins can share updates with the entire community through an announcements channel if they choose, but they need to use end-to-end encryption. The company started testing Communities in April and now they are available to everyone.

Some new features are being introduced by Meta. There are new in-chat polls that could be useful. Video calls can now have up to 32 participants, which may be useful for a large video call in your new community. If you want to make a giant group, the maximum group size is going to be doubled.
