Musk has been looking for ways to make money at the social media platform since he acquired it. Less than a month after Musk's acquisition, the move to charge for blue verification badges would happen.
A new feature that will allow content creators to charge viewers for videos is in the works, according to The Washington Post.
Stephen King is one of the current verified users who spoke out against the plan. Musk has doubled down on his stance, saying that he needs to pay the bills.

The current user verification policy divideslords and peasants, according to Musk. The new verification system will destroy the bots, as a paid account will be suspended if it engages in fraudulent activity.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez became the latest person to be shut down by Musk for speaking out against the plan. She said that Musk was trying to sell people on the idea that "free speech" is a $8/mo subscription plan.
She would have to pay $8 for her verified status even though Musk appreciated her feedback.

All users of the social network will be able to use the edit function for free. It is now available to users who pay a monthly fee. The change is possible this week, according to the report.
Only the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have access to it.
