The company said it was canceling the conference because of a management change. The conference was going to be held on November 16. There have been several exits and changes in the company's product strategy since Musk took over. It is no surprise that the social network is abandoning its plan for the conference.

According to the official account for developer announcements, the company is hard at work to make the service better for everyone, including developers.

We’re currently hard at work to make Twitter better for everyone, including developers! We’ve decided to cancel the #Chirp developer conference while we build some things that we’re excited to share with you soon.

The head of developer products at the company didn't give any details about why the conference was canceled and just said "Winds of change" as a response.

The conference will be held in November. The company opened up a contest for developers to show creative use cases of its new v2API with prices like $10,000 for winners of different categories and free access to the enterprise tier for a year. The social network will still announce the winner of the contest even though the conference won't happen.

The event was abandoned the next year. The platform had a difficult relationship with developers in the last decade and was trying to win them back with new programs. The company opened up access to academics.

Some third-party apps were highlighted in the program that was launched earlier this year. Shevat said at the time that the company was open to looking at models like the app store ofTwitter.

Last week, Twitter opened up new endpoints to direct messages that allow third-party applications to provide a better experience for users.

In the Musk era, it is not clear what will look like on the platform. Developers will hope that they will get better access to the company's tools after the CEO gave indications of engineering-led Twitter multiple times.

Questions will be asked about what happens to products. The company began testing a new version in hopes of making it a paid product. According to findings by app researcher Jane Manchun Wong earlier this year, there is a chance that you will be able to use the Tweetdeck. Since Musk is changing the subscription program in a big way, there's no way to know if Tweetdeck will be there.
