Son Heung-min's participation in the World Cup is in doubt because he needs surgery to fix a fractured eye.

Son was hurt during Spurs' win in the group stage of the European competition.

"Following surgery, Son will commence rehabilitation with our medical staff and we shall update supporters further in due course," said a Spurs statement.

The first game of the World Cup is between South Korea and Argentina.

When Son will have surgery and how long he will be out for have not been stated by Spurs.
