During the third game of the World Series, Tim McGraw paid homage to his father.

The country music star received a rousing applause from the crowd when he appeared on the big screen wearing a baby blue Phils jersey with his dad's number 45 on it.

The final out of the 1980 Fall Classic was recorded by the elder McGraw, who struck out Willie Wilson of the Kansas City Royals. The City of Brotherly Love was where he pitched from 1975 to 1984.

The singer spread his father's ashes on the mound before throwing the first pitch. The Phils won the title by beating the Rays.

Country artist and wife of Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, supported the team with a video of his pops.

The Miracle Mets won the 1969 World Series after defeating the Orioles.

Tim didn't know who his father was until he was 11. According to the musician, Tug told him they could be friends, not family.

The World Series is tied at one game apiece after the Houston Astros were thrashed by the Philadelphia Phils.
